Benito Navarrete Prieto named 2021 Tufts Award winner
Benito Navarrete Prieto has been named the 2021 recipient of SIGA’s annual Eleanor Tufts Award for his book Murillo: Persuasion and Aura (Harvey Miller, 2021). Honorable mentions go to Noelia García Pérez (ed.), The Making of Juana de Austria: Gender, Art, and Patronage in Early Modern Iberia (LSU Press, 2021) and Laura Fernández-González, Philip II of Spain and the Architecture of Empire (Penn State, 2021). Passing of Jonathan Brown

Adam Jasienski awarded Porter Prize
Adam Jasienski won the prestigious Arthur Kingsley Porter Prize for a distinguished article published in the Art Bulletin during the previous year for his article “Converting Portraits: Repainting as Art Making in the Early Modern Hispanic World,” The Art Bulletin, vol. 102, no. 1 (March 2020): 7–30.
