Iberian Art in a Global Context. A Tribute to Jonathan Brown

SIGA’s sponsored panel at the 111th annual CAA conference pays tribute to the late Jonathan Brown.
The panel, chaired by Ellen Prokop, will include four papers:
- Banks, Artists, and Freemasons across Borders: The Banco de San Carlos, Goya, and Cabarrús, by Reva J. Wolf, State University of New York at New Paltz;
- Madness in Madrid: The King, the Monk, the Pope and the Painter, by Irene Cioffi;
- An American in Spain: Juan Meléndez at the Court of the Spanish Habsburgs, by Jesús Escobar, Northwestern University;
- and Women on the Frontiers of Faith: Profession Portraits in Viceregal New Spain given by Louisa M. Raitt, New York University.
