This virtual seminar given by Agathe Bonnin (Cergy Paris Université-Universidad Autónoma de Madrid) is another installment in AGENART’s series on queenship, art, and material culture.
This bi-monthly virtual seminar is organized by the AGENART research group led by M. Cruz de Carlos Varona and housed at the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid.
The group is dedicated to the study of artistic agency among women affiliated with the Spanish branch of the Habsburg Monarchy in the 16th and 17th centuries and beyond. It is particularly aimed at emerging scholars.
In this installation, Agathe Bonnin will discuss Margaret of Austria and the Communion of the Virgin painting attributed to Juan Pantoja de la Cruz held at the Descalzas Reales, Madrid.
