The Program of Art History of the College of Humanities, Rio Piedras Campus at the University of Puerto Rico, is interested in recruiting candidates for a tenure-track teaching position, effective on August 1, 2024.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. in Art History with an emphasis in Art from Latin America and the Caribbean from an accredited university. Candidates in other areas of emphasis in Art History may also be considered.
  • Teaching experience at the university level.
  • Research experience in stated field of expertise.
  • Academic publications and presentations.
  • Commitment to excellence in teaching.
  • Demonstration of skills in the use of educational technologies and online education.
  • Proficiency in Spanish and English.

Responsibilities

  • Teach face-to-face, hybrid and online undergraduate courses.
  • Teach courses that meet during the day, evenings, and on Saturdays.
  • Research and publish in areas of specialty.
  • Advise students and supervise undergraduate research.
  • Develop proposals for seeking external funding.
  • Actively participate on committees, the creation of a graduate program and other tasks, as well as in university life.
  • Fulfill all obligations of a teaching position covered by the bylaws of the University of Puerto Rico.
