Collaborations

The American Society for Hispanic Art Historical Studies (ASHAHS), SIGA’s predecessor, has long enjoyed a cooperative relationship with ARTES, the Iberian and Latin American Visual Culture Group active in the United Kingdom. One of the fruits of this collaboration is the annual special issue dedicated to the visual arts of The Hispanic Research Journal (HRJ), the leading forum for research into the cultures of the Iberian Peninsula and Latin America from the medieval period to the present day. Between 2007 and 2020, this special issue was coordinated by a team of editors elected from the membership of ARTES and ASHAHS, respectively; from 2021 onward, a SIGA Officer serves on HRJ’s editorial board.

SIGA’s members look forward to deepening this historic partnership with ARTES while expanding our organization’s network to include additional collaborations with the international scholarly community dedicated to the arts of global Iberia.
